House of Wolf on upper street could be described as a little confused. The downstairs provides a relaxed drinking environment with simple bar food and a vibey atmosphere later on when the DJ hits the decks. Meanwhile the upstairs restaurant serves a set menu of fancy titbits in more formal surroundings. Come to the wrong bit, at the wrong time with preconceptions of what you're looking for and HOW may end up missing the mark.
However, the apothecary bar is lovely and totally worth a visit in itself. You can book the entire area too for a little gathering or if you have a larger one they can offer you the secret room with a hidden door which they can serve food at too.
The apothecary is a small faux-victorian-medicinal bar where the bar tender will whip you up a drink based on whatever you tell him, whether that's your alcohol preference or just your mood: "I'd like to feel buoyant and somewhat wistful in a complimentary way please".
He made my lovely friend here a Pornstar - which is his go to drink if you don't tell him what you want by the way so if you want to feel special you have express some kind of preference and enjoy him work his magic. The porn star is a fresh passion fruit concoction served up in a martini glass with a shot of champagne on the side and half a passion fruit to eat.
