Show me the Manet

This weekend is your last chance to see the Manet exhibition at the RA. We went late last night from 9.30 - 11.30pm when the crowds have mostly died down, since the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before an exhibition closes, the RA stays open till midnight. The exhibition has some great and interesting pieces in it but the blurbs are, in my opinion, pretty repetitive and annoyingly opinionated so I wouldn't bother with them, otherwise makes for a really great evening.

There is something really fun about seeing an exhibition late at night, and to make a proper event of it, we went for a pizza at Delfino just round Berkley Square - one of three ventures run by the family which does proper Southern Italian style thin base and massive pizzas, and then cocktails at The Caprice - my favourite place for cocktails.

The Caprice it just down the side of the Ritz. Drinks are £9.50 each and worth every penny, especially since the oh so charming bar man really takes care of you, and explains how to make them if you are interested. We had my absolute favourite Venetian Spritz and one I hadn't tried before - The Aviation - a delicious gin based cocktail with Maraschino and creme de violette, mmmm.
